RNZ (October) and Herald (November):
A well-known New Zealander recently charged with indecent assault from three decades ago can now be named as former ACT Party President Tim Jago. Jago has been charged with indecently assaulting one person in Auckland in 1995. He appeared via Audio-Visual Link (AVL) in the North Shore District Court on Tuesday. His lawyer Ian Brookie did not seek name suppression. Jago was due to reappear in court via AVL in November. The Herald revealed last month that the well-known figure had been charged with sexually abusing a male and appeared in the North Shore District Court on the charge. That alleged offending occurred in Auckland in 1995 and relates to one victim, who police said was over 16 at the time.

Looks like Microsoft have finally realised moving people onto the more expensive AI bundled 365 without asking was a shitty thing to do.

We want to ensure you have all the information you need to make the choice that’s right for you, so we are sharing that information below, including the opportunity to receive a refund. Option 1: Stay on Microsoft 365 Personal, your current plan Microsoft 365 Personal includes the core Microsoft 365 apps plus our AI assistant Copilot and ongoing feature updates.  Microsoft 365 Personal renews at $17 NZD per month tax inclusive. If you wish to stay on Microsoft 365 Personal, no action is needed. Option 2: Switch to Microsoft 365 Personal Classic and receive a refund While Microsoft 365 Personal Classic includes the core Microsoft 365 apps and regular security updates, it does not include our AI assistant Copilot and may not receive new feature updates. Microsoft 365 Personal Classic renews at $12 NZD per month tax inclusive, the price you paid before the increase.  If you want to continue using Microsoft 365 Personal Classic after you switch plans, you’ll need to keep recurring billing enabled. If you switch to Microsoft 365 Personal Classic by 31 December 2025, we’ll refund the difference in price between plans, starting from your first renewal date after 30 November 2024. We’ll process your refund to the payment method you use to subscribe within 30 days. Once the refund has been processed, it will be reflected in your Microsoft account. This refund option is only available to subscribers in New Zealand who receive this email and switch to the Microsoft 365 Personal Classic plan by 31 December 2025.

The ACT Party Coalition agreement called for the Government to ‘Restore balance to the Aotearoa New Zealand’s Histories curriculum.’ This was after the ‘Aotearoa New Zealand Histories Curriculum’ was introduced under Labour. ACT railed against this politicisation. The Party saw what was happening. Marxist ideology where everything is a matter of colonisation and class struggle was writ large in the four ‘big ideas.’ It was using a children’s curriculum to advance an adult political project.

Thought some of you might have missed this. This wonderful example from a special human being says everything some if us have been wanted [sic] to say for sooo long!” it reads. The newspaper article, photocopied and printed in the file, is headlined “Women’s only role is to breed – historian”, and discusses claims by historian David Irving such as “women do produce useful things, they produce men”. The email was sent to three senior female council officials, including the then-CEO, as well as all councillors.
