greatest desk i ever had was a home depot butcher block about six feet long and solid wood with some mineral oil on it, with some random legs i found online . movable by one person with some effort, super durable, and about $100 total. shorter & longer blocks were available too.

oh then on linux just hit the little settings icon > compatibility > force compatibility tool and then just pick the most recent stable proton

I prefer A, but I could not tell you by what metric. Vibe of B is a little more ‘system fallback’ but that might just be the sub-pixel AA.
