The City of Avon Lake, ALERG, and the Avon Lake Historical Society are committed to saving as many artifacts from the building as possible, and will continue to evaluate removal while ensuring the safety of the community and contractors.

Relatively weak sections of the building facade began to fall from the front of the building during demolition activities at the rear. For safety, those sections had to be removed. The building remains stable and demolition will continue, as planned and on schedule.
