NO... just no.

Advanced Audio Commissioning: It's one of the things that doesn't fit nicely under the Information Technology umbrella, usually requires years of experience and training... It's impressive when you see it in action! #AVinTheAM

Reporting/Monitoring: As my team delves deeper into open-source AV monitoring, there is a lot of noise. One tedious task is filtering out all the false positives, etc., and creating a report... sigh. And don't get me started on ticket resolution documentation! #AVinTheAM

A Good Quality Power Conditioner: It embodies AV in many ways... when it works, nobody cares. BUT, the moment it doesn't work - or worse, you don't have one when you need one - BOOM!

"Geeee Chuck... perhaps we should have purchased the good power conditioner vs. the $35 one!"

USB-C: The fact that a $140 cable that can do EVERYTHING looks identical to a free cable that comes with a vape pen... no standard markings... sigh.

Networking has gotten a little easier with AV-friendly switches. #AVinTheAM

Integration Team Lead: Responsible for overseeing the installation process (and installing), leading the team, deep understanding of the project, setting client expectations and timeline. While often underappreciated, this role is essential to the successful execution of any project. #AVinTheAM

Have we gone from 4K to 8K? 😀

Honestly, I'd take 1080/HDR over 4K SDR. Extreme resolution has a place, but it's now firmly planted on the edges. #AVtweeps #AVinTheAm

Do you want the audio to sound: Good : Great : Exceptional?
"Oh, exceptional you say, cool... I need to drill holes in the table at every seat and you can't move the table."

The pendulum is swinging to the form... but everyone wants the function. #AVinTheAM

Also... (soap box moment) how do you KNOW the AI-powered DSP -IS- auto-mixing... without a rather deep understanding of audio? #AVinTheAM #TrustMe

No - well, sometimes. It depends on how it's used. 1080p is still perfectly suitable for many situations, but 4K and 8K have their place. The key is communicating their purpose clearly and honestly. An excessively high resolution doesn’t automatically make art more enjoyable. #AVinTheAM

Also, a person with a used $250 display off eBay can outperform a $100,000 digital signage system in many situations. Heck, a free chalkboard can as well... content is, and always will be, KING #AVinTheAM

We are underselling the value of GOOD audio. We are analog beings... and AI may very well destroy music as we know it. But, get a nice set of speakers, a good amp, and a clean audio signal, and you can make magic happen. AVinTheAM

The reality is, AI-powered DSPs are primarily built for standard use cases (conference rooms, meeting spaces, huddle rooms, and similar environments). They’re not yet optimized for more unique or complex spaces. A solid grasp of open architecture DSPs will set you apart in the industry. #AVinTheAM

Digital signage in higher education is facing serious challenges. Many institutions lack the organizational structure to support it effectively, responsibilities often fall to the wrong teams, and costs continue to rise. Meanwhile, many signs are stuck on "University Generic Template 1.0" #AVinTheAM

Design should coordinate with Sales to gauge the customer’s comfort level. The salesperson understands the relationship dynamics and how comfortable the customer is with design involvement. #AVinTheAM
