Again, I'm not endorsing the cave. I thought it was bad. But there is no evidence for reading last week's electoral results as an endorsement of the shutdown.

You could just as easily argue that cost and affordability issues were the primary concern and the shutdown wasn't even on the electorate's radar.

They were state or local races that were primarily around cost and affordability issues that were well in place before the shutdown.

I agree. I said earlier that it's a lot easier taking all these stances if it's not your healthcare on the line or you depend on SNAP.
