The metaverse is often portrayed and hyped with visions and demos of massive crowds, concerts, action. I think that it could be the greatest library ever made. A library for everything, a protocol for being in that state of mind, a connection to the collective knowledge.

probably the best way to curate your experience here is to talk about things you like so that dumb people will do keyword filters and scunthorpe their way into echochambers leaving you alone

imo standards are less important than two or three hackers agreeing on some json keys and values. rule of cool and communities interacting drives the metaverse forward much more than theoretical problem solving for now.

one of my motivations for working on metaverse ideas is enabling interesting ways to teach others beyond the one minute of entertainment. virtual places to go through the struggle of understanding art and science alike.

this might be controversial but i see so much dumb political stuff on the what's hot section that it's kind of a self fulfilling prophecy of baiting more of it. i wish people tried to get a life instead of telling other people how to live theirs for a bit.
