The project started due to a chance encounter with Kevin and Erwin at the NBER CRIW summer institute in 2016. First draft was completed in 2018, and final version published in 2025! Happy to get this out.

otherwise, all we get is traditional goods leaving GDP (e.g. landline phone calls) as they're replaced by higher quality things that we value more but which don't appear in GDP because of having a zero price (e.g. free WhatsApp video calls).

Agree with you, but I am very sad Jeremy Strong did not win and no one seems to have watched the Apprentice. My top 2 of 2024 were Anora and the Apprentice.

Are there any movies/ TV shows involving this community? The only one I know of is Mississippi Masala, which is a great movie.
