Don’t disagree it’s a broken system they inherited but not pandering? Starmer s ‘Island of strangers’ speech comes to mind. I am open to evidence that proves otherwise but it is a narrative pushed by the right and doesn’t address any of the biggest problems this country is facing.

Thank you. Pinged off an angry email to my MP and the PM already but clearly the lesson is, don’t believe the media. Find out the details from the horses mouth first. Albeit I’m still pretty damn disillusioned with this govt pandering to the right.

Dystopian and far fetched but… It makes absolutely no sense for them to actively thwart global efforts to address and reverse our climate impact unless they have an alternative plan.

Nb. I am no scientist…

My rather depressing theory: fossil fuel giants, billionaires etc have a plan - invest in ensuring they survive (tech, AI etc) and thrive while climate chaos kills billions. Reduced gen pop = reduced pressure on climate = climate reset and happy world for their rich lonely descendants

If only there was a data set of annual net profit of major indiv corporations year on year that can be overlaid with data of their rising charges. I’m sure it exists.

I wish I was a data person !!

All media coverage highlights the ‘increased costs’ of producing these products. Not one connects it to profiteering. We’re being placated to accept shrinkflation as inevitable and not a result of corporate greed

How many seats are up? Is it a possibility??

If so, Polanski + Replicating what you’re doing in Byker across other wards and there’s hope.

I’ve never seen any councillors or hopefuls as active as the greens in 8 years of living here. Labour lazy, the rest barely bother.

Public meeting in Newcastle by any chance??

What is pic 1? It looks like it’s designed in the style of Basotho hats. There’s a tourist centre / hotel like that in Lesotho…?

Imagine. Had we remained we’d also be using this new advanced system and have complete biometric data of people coming in and their visa data, linked to when they leave so we’d know who and how many over stay etc. Would go a long way to addressing our perceived immigration ‘problems’

Good god. If he thought he came off bad in the show his ridiculously long ‘poor me me me me me’ rebuttal article does nothing more than cement it.

Pretend? Not sure they are pretending. Rather they are in a race to the bottom? Labour included

And if not, where and how do we start?
October 5, 2025 at 9:06 AM
And council performance. Reform isn’t in power nationally but we really need sight of how Reform-led councils perform. Because that what we’d have in power. People considering Reform need to be able to see the impact of what they’d be voting for.

Is there anything like this that exists to map UK politics? The granular data about MP voting records are available, but anything that analyses all data records (lobbying, funding, policies etc).

It was! They will always be unwelcome and outnumbered here

Newcastle came out in force today! There was a huge crowd at Monument. Which is more than Tommy Robinson can say. Here’s his sorry little gang. Saw more police today than them.
