If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s taking a bath in a haunted house.

Absolutely crazy to say that to anyone… but as an INVITED GUEST that’s just outrageous

Also I couldn’t remember the word for aviators and the best I could come up with was “those glasses that Bush Sr. wore”

“Corporate Death Penalty” is a great band name and an even greater idea.

I got invited to one this Friday, and I’ll be sure to report back as to whether the fire is worthy of admiration or of scorn

The persecution complex is so real. Once I heard someone say that the Missouri Mormon Extermination period was “as bad as the Holocaust”

Tbh, at this point I think Mormonism has gotten watered down so much that it’s turned almost protestant, and is generally a pretty standard religious culture.
The Joseph Smith era of the Church though? Oh absolutely a cult. I think Joseph Smith is one of the most successful cult leaders in history

The Rapture isn’t real, but it does feel real to a lot of Americans, and I worry that this movement may become violent also, like so many others.

And it’s not just historical, either — things still happen today. Examples include the Peoples Temple (Jonestown, 1978) and Heaven’s Gate (1997), where Christian or syncretic beliefs about the imminent end of the world motivated extreme behavior, including mass suicides.

Christianity has its origins as an apocalyptic movement. Tons of events in the history (the Crusades, the English civil war which briefly placed a pause on the monarchy, or the migration of Mormons to Utah) are a direct result of Christians believing that the end of the world would be any day now
