Yeah we have two lines that cross Colorado E/W, running directly perpendicular to the N/S population distribution of the Front Range.

LMAO yeah Monaco is working class for sure

And we don't either. The only thing we'd have to sacrifice is a few billionaires.

Important to note that CO2 emissions plateauing does not mean that global temperature increases will revert or even stop increasing, just that we stand a chance of avoiding a complete breakdown and exponential runaway (although that could also still happen)

Homes are the only asset that gain value as they become worse and worse. They're just trying to save off the inevitable collapse but it won't work.

When the senator from New Jersey fails to even acknowledge the new mayor of New York City, yeah, we have a fight on our hands.

Gerrymandering is extremely counter-majoritatian, too! As is not having compulsory voting, nationwide mail ballots, or a holiday on election day...

If people can't get to their jobs then they are jobless, then likely homeless, and then liable to be rounded up for forced labor.

This is why we need a hostile and complete takeover of the Democratic Party. We can't ask a coalition built on hating elites to keep voting for the useless elites instead of the fascist elites. Their only platform was stopping fascism and it's now clear that they can't and won't.

More than a little odd to hear "kids do stupid things" as an excuse a) from someone in the "15-year-olds should carry pregnancies to term" party and b) about some grown-ass men.

Almost like it's easier to present a clear and consistent message when your stated values, internal values, and intended policies are all coherent with each other.

The sad thing is a bike lane would boost their business!!

The owner is a roadie, too. One of those "I'm an avid cyclist, but..." types that somehow always show up for public comment.

I was a weekly regular at a biscuit place in Denver called Rise & Shine for YEARS. Then their owner Seth complained to the news that the bike lane in front of his store was getting protective bollards, and then the city canceled the protection on that stretch of the lane. Haven't been back since.

My hot take is that restaurants and groceries SHOULD cost more than they currently do, and blaming our perceived prices on workers fighting for higher wages is a psyop. Housing, healthcare, transportation. Those three are the bulk of everyone's budget and talking about anything else is pointless.

They don't think that. Its most profitable use cases are contracts with the police state and military industrial complex and they know it. The social media videos and sexting are just a way to try to make us OK with footing the power and water bills.

Also if it's decades-old then at what point should we question its efficacy? I tend to put more faith in boycotts that follow the SMART framework for goal-setting: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound. I'll never cross a picket line, but you can't realistically picket *everything*

Last year I was laid off from a small business that I am glad I no longer work for and would be glad to see that their doors are shut. But I would have preferred to make that decision on my terms. Moral high ground didn't pay my rent for 5 months--unemployment did. Barely.

2/2 I see lots of people simply wanting to opt out of anything that makes them feel icky without also opting IN to supporting their community members, who are often marginalized, who will feel the worst of it when companies start layoffs.
