hail and lightning shut down the renaissance faire a little early today, but i had such a lovely time with friends all the same! it was also excellent to show off the sewing project that consumed the last two weeks of my waking life lol

I'm smiling, arms behind my back, dressed in a black pleated skirt and a black 16th-century inspired jerkin over a tan linen shirt. The jerkin is handsewn and trimmed with white and deep blue ribbon, and belted with a coffee brown ring belt. A closer look at my jerkin, made from repurposed dress shirts. The unstructured bodice is fitted and accented with two diagonal strips of blue in a v-shape across my torso, densely buttoned in the front with loops of white ribbon. The sleeve caps and skirt of the garment are made up of multiple segmented tabs, all trimmed in white down the edges with a blue stripe in the centre. I am looking pensively into the distance, and my hair is beginning to curl at the temples from the rain.
