“At times I feel certain I am right while not knowing the reason…Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”

True but all big accomplishments have to start with big ideas. Get imaginative.

Government by coalition. The dominant party chosen by 55% of the people should not get to make 100% of the decisions. No immunity for politicians in or out of office. Laws apply to everyone equally.

What else would you include?

No gerrymandering. No political donations or fundraising. No political ads. Candidates can get their message out through publicity funded debates, speeches, etc. Term limits for everyone. Judges should be elected, not appointed.

Voting equality- no electoral college Abolish the senate. How is having two people represent each state even remotely fair? In the senate the interests of 400,000 North Dakotans are weighted just as heavily as the needs of 20 MILLION Californians.

Don’t give in. Trump and Musk showed us they will shut the government down anyway might as well fight for something in the process.

Electoral college
Uneven representation in the senate (and even the house)
Failure to ratify the equal rights amendment
Lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court and lack of term limits in congress
Is updating the constitution the way to fix all of that?
October 2, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Jon, I love your podcasts. You want democrats to do big things and I am all for that but I have yet to hear you broach the topic of constitutional reform. It is hard for me to see a future in which we can make real, meaningful progressive changes in this country without a new or revised constitution

I’m only half way through this but damn. Leave it to the dude from fudging Comedy Central to actually make sense of this conflict and have the most honest, non-biased discourse I have heard anywhere.

Better yet, pass a constitutional amendment that says if a president is removed from office their entire cabinet and all of their past appointments are invalidated.

We need to flip the house first and then impeach both Trump and vance. Vance is worse. He’s strategizing for a long term autocracy and fully in control of his faculties. Trump is just selfish and 3/4 demented.

You will never convince me that little free libraries aren’t little wells of sorcery. The magic is palpable.
May 15, 2025 at 1:18 PM
46 of you to be exact. Leave one on the floor to demand a quorum before every single vote. Make the other side work as hard as possible to get anything done.

So why isn’t “Senators form human chain blocking librarian from removal” the top story today?

MAGA gonna keep on cryin’ ‘bout that
WOKE MARXIST POPE

Right. Have fun playing with tarot cards and communing with nature if you want, but that stuff has no business being part of our government’s official medical policy.

Not to mention if you want to kidnap someone apparently all you would have to do is put on a mask and claim to be with DHS. How long until some violent ex-boyfriend tried it?

BUT the problem with being right half the time is you’re still wrong half the time. Imagine riding an elevator that only takes you to the correct floor half the time. And occasionally instead of just taking you to the wrong floor it plunges you to your death.

I honestly think about 50% of what RFK stands for is good. Yes let’s focus more on disease prevention. Let’s subsidize fruits and vegetables. Let’s find ways to get people moving. Let’s get some questionable chemicles out of our food.
