New YT video out today!

A bit of a different format this time, where I talk about how to find a problem to solve for your product/business on my commute home.

You don’t need to find unicorn or a home run idea for your first business.

Today I'm committing to doing something that's never been done before.

I'm building a #startup #medtech company in public.

Also, hello to the FDA inspector that may review this in the future.

Real question -

Where do doctors, medtech, and biotech professionals get their news from?

1)Newsletters
2)Podcasts
3)Social media
4)AI
5)others??

How does a giant corp like Walmart still not have tap to pay in stores?

Unless you had the foresight to know you’re gonna forget your wallet and put a card in the Walmart app, you’re just screwed.

I’m just lucky I stashed a gift card in my car

Software has frameworks and systems in place to speed up tedious work.

What does #medtech have? Ctrl C + Ctrl V and overly expensive software.

Why do we tolerate wading through such a slow, expensive system?

Change happens just outside of your comfort zone.

How did you get outside of your comfort zone today?

For me, it was cold emailing a top thought leader in infectious diseases. Scared the sh*t out of me, but we did it. 💪

It kills me how SBIR applications and other grant funding opportunities REQUIRE you write in the third person. My writing is passive AF and I hate it outside of academics.

The goalposts will always move...

to be richer,
to be more famous,
to be better than that guy over there,

don't forget to enjoy the journey. That joy is your own.

“Always have a pitch deck ready,” - Chad Deckerson, self-proclaimed VC knower.

“Decks don't matter, investors bet on people,” - Tony Pajamas, who knows a friend of a friend who raised 250k Series A.

Business is full of contradictions. At the end of the day, conveying your story is the real goal.

People buy benefits, not features.

Benefits are very personal and intimate - features are not.

Example: Why do we buy toothpaste? To some, its for good oral health. For others, they buy the benefit of whiter teeth.

When creating a business or product, think about the benefits you offer.

The last thing small med tech companies need right now is an FDA blackout. As if things weren’t already hard enough

*sigh* Time for one last meal of raw fish until we have an FDA again.

I'm taking an MBA marketing class and we have been assigned a reading that talks about AI strategies for success in entrepreneurship.

In an ironic twist, the article itself is probably written by AI. Caught them red handed with the ole "delve" overuse trick.

Layers and layers of AI slop....

Today I learned that "pay to pitch" events are a thing. I can't imagine forking over a few hundred just for a chance to chat with someone that has more money than me for 15 minutes.

Does anyone think these are worth it? Are they just a scam hiding in plain sight?

Just started working with JavaScript APIs. Small win today was making a basic medical device classification tool using the FDA's API.

Pretty basic, but I thought it was super cool 😁

The first thing I learned is that Wendy’s tweets are the second coming of marketing Jesus.

This’ll be a long class 😬
To all my MBA homies -

Do you have any secrets for reading marketing textbooks without rolling your eyes into the back of your skull? Maybe switch on subway surfers while reading chapters? Idk

Meeting scope creep is the bane of my existence.

We first talked about how we can scale and automate our v2 of a medical device. Now 1 hour in, we are talking about the science of dust particles. Like how did we get here?? 🙄😩

I hate agendas but man id love one right now

AI slop posts have been hitting my med device feeds hard lately. The post below contributes nothing and tells us what we already know as developers and consumers alike.

I want to see more hot takes in the industry. 😆 Not more of this regurgitated garbage.
