I remain convinced that there is an alternate history where indigenous North Americans domesticated raccoons before Europeans got here

It’s what happens when I use the phone.

I mean, who needs to know who has sent me messages? It’s a bad habit, I should just stop talking to people.

Ok but this isn’t really “remote” is it? It’s mediated touch with perceptual inference.

Very different from spooky action at a distance!

The last time I did primary care research I was depressed for weeks afterwards.

There was just so much avoidable suffering I encountered in that project.

I don’t want to have figure out how to have the Zotero database get ingested into embeddings and indexed in a coherent way, and how to query it. I

Once someone does that I can build what I want on top of that. But there are layers here it makes no sense for me to solve myself.

I think we’re talking past each other, maybe?

If I had to build my own QDA I’d never get any research done - and I’ve built my own QDA and it was a huge time suck and didn’t ultimately improve my research work.

There’s a similar thing going on with LLM-based tools.

It annoys me immensely that we have to do this when there is a whole enormous industry full of people who have the technical capability and the money to build good tools.

I’ve been playing with Msty already because this is one of the things it does, as long as your notes are in plain text, I think.

Ultimately I want this stuff to be pointed at my 20 year-long bibliography in Zotero to help me find articles I’ve already identified as being interesting

I keep wanting to want alternatives to my iPad Pro but it’s been hard to justify a second pen device just for the e-ink

Here's a thread full of Yeogno of every shape and size.

Yeongno is the greatest mythical character.

A monster who must eat 100 corrupt politicians to get into heaven.

Why is it not more widely known? Despite being performed across Korea for centuries, no two towns can agree on what it looks like.

It only took us four decades to get Apple to do design via A/B testing, but we finally managed it!

Uh huh.

“Theory” is great but the thing it refers to, while it can be powerful, also happens under very specific conditions which are rarely recognised as influencing and limiting the output.

There is theory that cannot be developed outside of applied work!
