Is this change bad? I dunno, but I can see why people are up in arms about it. Seems like a real weird addition to make to a Metroid Prime game. Or who knows, maybe it's awesome. We'll see.

The closest you get to this is Metroid Prime 3 where in the beginning of the game you follow around some bounty hunters but it's only in cutscene and they're quickly gone. IIRC there's a part in later where you fight alongside other federation forces but it doesn't matter if they survive or not.

There's an alien dude that you talk to for like 5 minutes total of the entire game, and he stays in a room and thats it

I have played a lot of metroid prime 2 and have no idea what point you're trying to make
