Dear BBC: Stop calling him “Andrew”. What would you call any random commoner in a piece like this? It wouldn’t be “Rolf’s reply reads…” or “Jimmy has always denied…”

Surnames. Like “Trump” and “Maxwell” as in this same screenshot.

Apparently I was just on The Chase.

And yes, I was the correct answer. Which explains why I write books under a pen name.

Another mad piece by Laura.

If "number of votes" is relevant - and Laura seems to be saying yes and no simultaneously, which is convenient - then it's a shame she didn't mention that Labour got 9.7m, Conservatives 6.8m, and Lib Dems 3.5m. Reform's 4.1m doesn't account for their over-representation.

For some reason the BBC has found it necessary to interview Linehan, between his court appearances.

The story has no comments from any trans people, of course. Polanski at least said the right things. Chakrabarti hedged.

Yes, because the government are *definitely* a trusted source when it comes to the intricacies of communication networks, data formats and bulk messaging.

I'd like to hear an actual expert explain it. Smells more like network data corruption to me, but I am also not an expert.

Channel 4 News leads on Israel attacking Gaza City.

On the BBC News website, it's not in the top section. It's past the GCSE bit, local news, "More to explore", the video playlist, the new BBC Weather game, and the "Most watched" list.

It's "Also in news", by a story about giraffes.

Quote this with a book you read way too young that explains why you are the way you are.

Good to see an active-voice, plain-language headline here.

Framing: the BBC News major event navigation.

"Israel-Gaza war" pretends an equivalence that does not exist. Israel is flattening Gaza. It's genocide.

Meanwhile "War in Ukraine" doesn't even mention Russia.
