Task: Remove vowels from a string
Bonus: Minimize variable usage
For clarity, I decided to define an array for the criteria rather than use OR operators within the "if" statement. This also makes future changes easier (ie: including "y", etc)

JavaScript: for...of & for...in loops, new Object(), dot vs bracket, object methods, debugger
Python: basically everything I've covered in JS, for concept reinforcement & language differences
Basic nav & file read/write in console
Setup: VS Code, GitHub, Node.js, Postman, Chocolatey

Given a list of values for good and evil soldiers, and an input of quantities for each type of soldier, determine whether Good or Evil will triumph.
Note: I want to become more familiar with .map() & .reduce()

Task: Piglatin translator
Lots of help from a fellow coder in the brainstorming; working with others really does open up tons of possibilities. He introduced me to .slice and some looping theory.

Take a string formatted "first:last;first:last;first;last" and return it formatted "(last, first)(last, first)(last, first)" sorted by last name.
I haven't learned string and array manipulation yet, but here's what I pieced together with some Googlification.

Noticed myself missing a lot of syntax and simple steps when learning new concepts, so I slowed down to ensure accuracy of comprehension.
I'm also adapting my touch-typing skills to include the top num/symbol row and the brackets.

Coding challenge (see last post), comparison & logical operators, for loops and while loops.
I'm definitely getting antsy to start a project of some kind, so I might look into that soon. It's hard to stay interested when I don't have a way of really applying the new information.

Had to search a bit for syntax and possible functions to use, but my pseudocode led my Googling spirit true enough.

Learned about some fun new operators I haven't gotten to use yet 😅. Played with functions, nested functions, if, else if, and switch.
I started a text-based decision-making game, but searching for a way to process user input made me realize I need a *little* more of the basics first.

I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not educated or experienced enough to know where that line is right now.

This is where smart people get stuck. The brighter you are, the more coherent your plans tend to look on paper. But plans are scripts. And reality is improvisat

Some YT during my workout on levels of coding languages (assembly vs high-level, abstraction, etc).
And a reminder to listen to your body, and prioritize your health. It's hard to be productive or to learn when you aren't physically well enough to do so.

Got some good practice and familiarity in.
Even though I already understood the math, the repetition for typing it out in code was helpful. I also watched a CS50 class from Harvard on YT that helped with framing and perspective.
Here's a summary of the notes; it's mostly about operators.

4-5 hrs of YT and research on various bootcamps & programs. I found 2 where I might even get paid time off to attend.
Did some review in the meantime.
Note to self: spend more time writing code than doing research.

I've always enjoyed problem solving, research, logic, and breaking down and explaining systems, so I'm going to learn coding. The goal is an internship or entry level job by Feb '26, so it's bootcamp city for me.
Wish me luck, and follow along if you're interested 😁
