I don't think it's as black and white. Like most issues, there is a lot nuance that gets ignored by headlines. It's definitely not there yet (which is why I'm experimenting, to know what it can/can't do), but I think there is potential to empower artists.

2/ Most genAI is slop, but I'm intrigued by how it might change animation. Animators are talented people who are locked out of creating bigger art by the inefficiency of the medium. I honestly think an "Adobe Illustrator" moment is happening for animation, and I enjoy testing the cutting edge.

People freaked out when Adobe Illustrator came out, but in the end it helped create endless new art. The future can be scary, but personally I cope by trying to understand and adapt, while trying to keep tradition alive.

2/ I know not everyone agrees with that, but that's okay. I'm drawing anonymous cartoon porn here, it's not that serious. I do it because drawing lewd stuff motivates me to draw more and improve and so I'm letting that wave take me where it takes me. I'm glad people are along for the ride.

It's not a replacement for real animation, and I'm transparent when I use it. I think to grow you need to explore new tools and techniques. AI is unfortunately here to stay and I like understanding it by exploring it with my own trad work as a base.

The deeper lore here is that she doesn't mind getting creampied by a bunch of Park Ave teenage boys with trust funds, because why not? She might win the lottery.
