I teach feral humans
My experience interacting with this world through students is mostly just being stunned that nobody will do anything to stop these familial spirals. Worse, it seems local and state govt are acting like they think this will go away if they ignore it

The mystery as I've learned from school social workers is that we've got such a high judicial tolerance for parental neglect coupled with absolutely no program capacity for helping the number of children who would be better off removed from their family

You don't even have to like capitalists themselves to admit this is true! Capitalism has failures and particular capitalist figures are horrid humans, but the dominance of local lords brings both lower production and subjugation

Not to go too far on an aside here, but a lot of education is a semi-solved problem but we just don't like the answers. Many problems perpetuated because they increase graduation rates.

I think in person timed writes are better for a bunch of non-AI reasons, so we really should be fine.

The problem is it too accurately shows what students (don't) know. There is no fluff factor, which is why many school administrations require teachers to have certain grade categories and weights.

People look at me like I'm crazy when I say the texture is better. Nice to know I'm not the only one who prefers it over meat texture

Can you elaborate on this a bit further?

My school's 9th grade dean says that so many times parents have not tried even the most basic consequences and that she is in the awkward place of having to tell them to not let them see friends, to take their phone, to turn off the Wi-Fi.

There is definitely something going on with parents. Childrearing changes that are partially downstream of smartphones are wrecking kids

The scam trajectory is almost perfectly in line with us; the total victory of crypto and fraudsters over regulation and the rule of law is right on the path of disaster. The only remaining component to make it truly horrific is for the government to start buying crypto directly like they want to.

Yep. These social media masculinity influencers offer validation and low-cost solutions to having no purpose or having weak social skills when positive role models are asking for supported introspection and self-work. This is a marketplace of ideas failure.

The more economic pain his policies cause, and the broader the pain, the better.

You're like a child who thinks that by not trying no one will find out that they can't. It's not a convincing act, bro.
