A little Houston outing yesterday!

Ahhh! Here they are hanging up at the Pearl Museum! I’m hoping to go back and take a pic with them :)

I like to call this mixed media painting “Family Dinner”
I originally did this one in black and white for a school assignment but wanted to make it a bit funky

I also like to think the two roaches on the waffle sharing the heart are on a little dinner date

This piece I remember being super fun to paint!

I really liked the angles of the cups and playing around with the frosting on the cake. So far I’ve made this one into little die cut stickers but I’ve been playing around thinking of doing some greeting cards. :)

Concept sketch vs final painting!

This is a good reminder for myself that sketchbooks don’t have to be full of finished beautiful pieces.

Today I wanted to share one of my fav paintings that I had a lot of fun capturing references for!

Queue me taking a trip to Galveston with my husband where we rode the ferry.
On the ferry I might’ve rolled down the windows to the car and lured some seagulls over with some warm fries. 🍟

I did this fun painting of my mom’s cat that always sleep in the blanket basket.

This is one where I really started to experiment with different textures by adding embroidery floss!

I wanted to share an up close short of me varnishing this piece!

It def was one of my favorites and launched me into experimenting with more playful brushstrokes and color. 🎨

I wanted to share another one of my personal favorites. This one I sold an art show outside of Houston, Tx and it was so excited to sell an original to a complete stranger!
I call it “Down the Drain” if you’re able to zoom into the sink you might find a hidden message in the soup!

I call it “Slim Cat Studio” my beloved cat, slim is always keeping me company in our art room when I’m hanging out. What better way to show her love for her company than to paint her! 🐈‍⬛
