idk if the fgc has any niche that needs to be covered by indie developers other than maybe platform fighter fans who want a more competitive alternative to smash bros honestly, but im also an outsider so idk if theyre actually happy with the current state of the genre

i think its probably bc, while games like classic doom, half life or quake are still pretty popular to this day, their style of gameplay has largely been abandoned by triple A studios, leaving the doors open for indie developers to cover that niche instead

moreover most boomer shooters are more focused on the single player experience so newcomers dont have to concern themselves with the idea of not being as good as other players and they can just develop their skills as they go through the campaign

besides what other people said here, fighting games are just a bit too daunting for the average player, theyre competitive games that require a lot of practice if you wanna have a chance against more experienced players making them way less accessible compared to a game where you run and shoot

i played on xbox 360 and demos didnt have any replay limits afaik, that was only a nintendo thing bc ninty is a special little boy

all the other sonic demos from that era would also only let you play one stage, the sonic 4 episode 2 straight up only let you play a small part of white park

ok it seems that indeed the dropdown menus are treated as windows in the spotify app, disabling the "center new windows" feature on gnome tweaks makes the dropdown menu spawn on the top left corner instead

not a programmer, cant criticize how others program their apps, but this feels janky lol
