Perpetually bemused. Born in the 70s, and still no clue what I'm going to be. (he/him)
Using the list is fine, I specifically mean people who can't stop mentioning that this is really the entry bar a book has to cross to be up to their standards as often as they can. Meet several people like that.

There are a whole lot of people for whom reading such literature is primarily a status symbol. Most readers of these books are not, of course, but I met too many of them to discount them as a significant faction. A telltale sign seems to be constant mentioning of Man Booker awards for some reason.

The key to shepherd's pie, I found, is to not use the whole shepherd.

Lovely game, that. Waiting for mine to arrive.

I have the sneaky suspicion that several of the unnamed leaders who contacted him saw at the latest point 4 as an issue.

Are there bonus points for anyone replying multiple times?

And transforming into a useful format first, well done! Also, great haul!

Geschichtsvergessenheit pur.

And, as always with media that is at least nominally aimes at children there is likely an element of "it is good for kids, and they do not care anyway."

That, and maybe some personal relationship influence?
Some might have known Rowling for a while, or someone else involved & important for the project, and the math changes to "yes, that horrible person is involved, but my good friend(s) want me on board, so..."

And the high blood pressure gives them their far-above-average physical prowess? Do you mean the movie Wanted actually showed a weird high level D&D campaign?

Mostly makes me wonder what kind of payout he is hoping for.

Post a Movie GIF from the year you were born.

And that means the potential loss (since there are no guarantees!) is a lot bigger than the potential additional profit. YMMV, of course, but it is a valid view.
August 22, 2025 at 1:15 PM
Entirely possible. But would you bet millions on it? No matter how you look at it, it is a gamble. And they would gamble that money to win what? Tens of thousands? Looking at it purely through a business lens, the money Daggerheart might make ideally is a lot less than CR makes right now.
August 22, 2025 at 1:14 PM
I would expect that they will run a miniseries with Daggerheart from time to time, though. Or maybe use the time freed up by the larger cast/new GM/multiple groups in the long run to start something new and bigger for the game.

Mostly I agree, but I can also see that the show makes them a lot more money than they are likely to ever get from the system. So, keeping it as the functioning core (and given the likely large D&D-only section of the fandom) I can see why did this.
August 22, 2025 at 10:26 AM
Yes, agreed. And there would be a lot of people in power who would call on everyone to seriously consider the proposal.
