this storyline is the source of the single greatest panel in the entire manga:
A panel from chapter 239 of Ranma 1/2, featuring the title character Ranma Saotome prancing around in girl form and wearing a swimsuit while thinking, "Come hither, you dopes! Come lavish your money on grateful little me!". A number of abstracted food items which Ranma is imagining eating are visible floating in the dreamlike background.

You are not seeing things: that is a _tracked belt_ surface instead of a steering wheel, set around a _color CRT monitor_. The diamond motley pattern on the seats is just a bonus at this point.
