What is this study?

This study aims to explore the lived experience of autistic people who have accessed or tried to access perinatal mental health services in the UK to think about whether the support received was helpful and what might improve these services.

a monthly in person neurodivergent support group & I don't think that would have been possible for me without starting my journey with online one to one peer support from APUK. I feel like I am more resourced & more resourceful now, thanks to this service & it has been incredibly beneficial.”

My regular one to one peer support calls has helped me to build up a bit of confidence to communicate with people & I think being in a conversation with someone who I feel able to not have to mask with, has really helped me to feel safer in my own skin & I have recently started attending

We reiterate our previous statement on harmful and incorrect messages being spread about Autism by US President, Donald Trump and Health Secretary, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.:

The causes of autism are complex, and much of the rise in rates of diagnosis in recent years can be attributed to better awareness and identification of Autistic people.
