Funny you say that as the art book for the game had this to say about Cortex.
Photo taken by vampirefantasy on Tumblr. It is a quote from the Crash Bandicoot 4 artbook saying the following: "There was a funny problem with him, which was that once they got him into animation it felt like everything he was doing was turning out too handsome, which I felt was a really funny problem for Neo Cortex to have. His propoetions just slewed more debonair than they had before. So doing an expression sheet helped us to get a range of expressions thag felt more classically Neo Cortex."
