What’s the point of the ruling if the judge still isn’t gonna say, with certainty, that the firings were illegal? I have no political or legal knowledge, so could someone please explain any strategic reasons for giving fascists the benefit of the doubt, other than cowardice or complicity?

I hadn’t heard about that (I’m not familiar with the Syrian civil war so I won’t pretend to know anything I don’t) but that’s why I don’t want to be too optimistic. People do change but “Let’s treat women as objects and kill infidels” doesn’t quickly change into “Let’s be honest and fair”.

I support life sentences because even if you’ve lost 20 years, you could still be found innocent after sentencing. The death penalty is quite permanent, and while there are some people who I think would be better off gone, I don’t trust myself or anyone else to decide who that would be.

Forgive my ignorance but aren’t puberty blockers reversible? I’m sure a very small percentage of transgender minors might change their mind, but it must be so few, and if the effects are reversible, let them make the choice.
