Unfortunately, not all authors offer direct sales. Sometimes it's not feasible, or it's something they don't have the time to manage.

I think they get a bigger piece of the pie if you buy directly from them. Not sure about the indie bookstore, or publisher. Indie's don't have a publisher, so that doesn't work for them. Indie bookstores- it depends on what you work out with them. Some won't carry indie titles.

I think we all hope to do that, but it's not always as easy as it sounds. Unfortunately, Amazon makes things pretty easy.

You are not hurting Jeff Bazos at all by boycotting Amazon. You are hurting small businesses and authors who rely on that marketplace to make a living. Boycotts take away our livelihood.

Jeff Bezos isn’t suffering if you boycott Amazon. It makes no never mind to him. He is affected at all. He has other revenue streams, and has sold off a lot of his interest in the company. The only people that suffer when people boycott Amazon are small businesses and authors. We rely on Amazon.

I don’t do a lot of hand writing anymore. Mostly just note taking and brainstorming. The actual book writing I do on my laptop.
