I’ve been thinking about how data, at its core, is art. Nature informs us through our senses, which then color our reality. How a sunset sky reveals the molecules in the atmosphere, or how the sonics from instruments alter our bioelectrical brainwave activity.

Exploring music from the 80’s and this album has me grooving from start to bottom. I know, I know, but better late than never, amIright?

still need time to process, but this is one of the best films I’ve ever seen. Might be top 5, right there next to Interstellar and Finding Nemo. Every song had purpose. Every character was intriguing. Every shot was beautiful. This is why I love movies.

There’s not enough YA sci-fi on the market these days, so I’m grateful to have found this book. It’s also being adapted into a movie starring Daniel Kaluuya, which is just epic af.

If you’re into creating, whether just for a hobby or making a career out of it, I highly suggest this book. A Creative Act has given me a new perspective on how I write and make music. I’ll share some of its lessons over time, but today let’s talk about distractions.

Adulthood kicked into another gear this month, and I’ve been spending plenty of time reflecting on its lessons. Here are a few insights. 3 out of 12 knocked down

It’s been too long since I’ve gone horizontal and stared into space while listening to blonde. Need to fix that. Btw these are my top 3 off the album, though it rotates often.

S/O booktok for another solid rec Shigidi is a mythic tale of disgruntled deities, revenge, and a heist across two worlds. This definitely was a global adventure that was more intriguing with every page. Trigger warning: this book has themes of SA.

What’s your music vibe when you create? It’s a complex question for me to answer. Music takes me to a different plane beyond time and space. Whether I dip into the jazz classics of the 70’s, or stay current in this lofi era, it all grounds my body while uplifting my mind.

One of the most enthralling and visually captivating comic book series I’ve read in a long time. Do yourself a favor and read Storm.

Afronature (& to an extent, Solarpunk) honors our connection to the roots of our ancestors and the land. Here are some images that remind us that our bodies are the fruit of a divine garden.

Consider following as I share what’s inspiring me and my author journey.

As we enter this final week of Black History Month, I want to stress the importance of grounding ourselves in nature. I find solace in the outdoors; admiring creation serves as inspiration for artistic endeavors. Whenever I’m in a rut, a simple walk can completely change my perspective.

Some jazz can move me to tears, or bring me into past lives I’ve never known.

And BTW Jazz led to many other musical genres, the most popular being Bossa nova (which literally means “new wave”). This blended samba and jazz and formed in Rio de Janeiro in the 1950’s.

Anyone that knows me knows I love music from every decade and across multiple genres. But when I listen to jazz something comes over me. It’s hard to explain, but it’s how I want my novels to feel: expansive yet intimate, with each note having a groovy resonance.
