Oh jeez, I get so many of those emails.

I was confused when I read the obit. Then sad, depressed, and finally just angry. Angry that my family was just as petty. Angry that I wasted so many years tied to the family that rejected me after I moved. But I’m ok. I have my chosen family and I love them more than I was ever loved.

Petty until the very end, my family kept me out of the obit, but added the son she put up for adoption before I was born, a secret she had kept until after she stopped talking to me.

Understandable. We’re struggling too. The election gave us some hope.
