I'm at Anime Boston this weekend (as an attendee, not a vendor), but while I'm wandering around I thought I'd share this illustration of Takeshi I'm working on. Like Jeri's picture, this is a re-work of a 13-year old design, and is his outfit from when he was the Captain of the Imperial Guard.

So tropes.
I've discovered no one knows what they are anymore. They've become so overused in marketing that while they are helpful for quickly getting at the vibes of a story, a lot of what you see on graphics aren't actual tropes.
My hot take today is that settings aren't tropes, but you do you XD
