I have nothing against self-insert or choose your own adventure. Both are valid and entertaining! But this reeks of "we just found romance, we don't like how the genre runs, we're going to wander in and "fix" it!"

At that point just go pick up a choose your own adventure book or go look up Y/N fanfic on A03 rather than trying to change romance
