I think I might suggest that the title of Ultimate Sporting Challenge goes to the Tour de France. 21 days (not 5), constant gruelling cycling (not spending half your time in the pavilion drinking tea) and proper injuries and even, occasionally and sadly, death.

What about nurses? Care workers? Public transport workers. Much of our public sector were putting themselves in danger during Covid. Hey - even us pensioners are paid a much lower pension than many other countries. We demand fair pensions!

But the mandate for strikes doesn't make sense:
Entitled to vote: 53,766. Yes votes: 26,766
49.8% yes vote.
www.bma.org.uk/our-campaign...
Weird coincidence that entitled to vote and yes votes both end in "766". What are the chances? (1 in 1000)

Average wage / house price ratio is double (or more) from when I (boomer) took a first step on the property ladder.
I remember being offered a 100% mortgage on a 3.5 times multiplier in the mid-70s. Now: you need a mortgage 9.7 times average salary.

Straight after his "major announcement" the other day, the saviour of the working people is on his grift again, this time to the BitCoin conference in Las Vages.

Do you ever check facts before you report them?

It wasn't a by election loss to Reform. They lost seats to Lib Dem & Green. AND they're in government, so always take a drubbing in locals.
It's the Tories who are in disarray.
May 3, 2025 at 1:12 PM
Let's not be distracted: Tories have lost roughly twice as many council seats as they've won. Labour roughly equal.
And government parties always do worse in local elections.
Let's not jump to ludicrous conclusions.

Can we ask Trump for our money back?
$680bn in US government debt we're holding.
April 11, 2025 at 10:51 AM
And, of course, Trump Media:
$43.04 on 13th Jan.
$18.41 today.
A drop of 57% in a few months.
April 3, 2025 at 10:54 PM
And the price of Tesla has plummeted from $424 to $282 - an over 33% drop. 😜
April 3, 2025 at 11:56 AM
Latest £ - $ price: $1.32
The value of the GBP against the USD has risen by over 7% since Trump took office. That'll offset some of the tariffs.
