I feel like there's this idea that if you ship people you only EVER see them as romantic. And it forms the basis as to why people get mad about "ew this person drew cute ""seemingly"" platonic art but ACTUALLY they ship them how nasty" and it's like. Bro? No? I can do ship fic AND platonic fic?

this is why adult creators are really emphasizing that non-creators be the ones who contact paypal. Of all the paypros, PP is the most likely to act in a retaliatory manner towards individual accounts. If you dont make adult content or youre just a commissioner, you are able to help a LOT
Whenever I've called PayPal and brought up issues with adult content they have always asked me first if I'm engaging in selling it through my account. Paypal wants to know if it can target you when you question its policies.
I like how you, as a NSFW creator, need to seek permission - but doing so obviously puts you on their radar and risks getting shit-canned just for trying to be "legit" about it

The biggest mistake you can make in NSFW is thinking that by classifying your work as wholesome, affirming, some other positive adjective, etc and throwing people with the weird and questionable kinks under the bus you will somehow be saved from a normie moderator who's not too fond of queer people.
its still disheartening seeing those with hyper-niche fetishes going after other ppl with hyper-niche fetishes as if theyll somehow be spared from all of this by virtue of good optics or something
