Union members have secured some hUUUge wins this week, and elsewhere in the country we're seeing some powerful demonstrations of collective action 💪🏾

Did we miss any biggies? Let us know!

WU gig workers and Australia’s two biggest delivery platforms, DoorDash and UberEats, have lodged a joint application to the Fair Work Commission for minimum standards for riders.

A WORLD FIRST.

These workers deserve standards, safety, and fair pay. Power to them!

HUGE world first win. Gig workers in Australia are on the cusp of securing min rates of pay and accident insurance 🍾

Hundreds of union members are protesting at Amazon sites today, calling out the company for dodging taxes, exploiting workers, and threatening Aussie jobs and media. TWU, SDA, and MEAA are joining forces to demand fair pay, better protections, and real change for workers and local businesses

ANZ workers are living with anxiety, burnout and dread as the bank fails to communicate who is expected to lose their jobs in the proposed 4,500 job cuts.

One worker says, "Everything is chaos- roles are changing weekly, workloads are huge, and no one knows who will still have a job next month"

Don’t settle for the back row when you can be behind the scenes making change happen.

Did you know it's currently legal to pay 18,19, and 20-year-olds less than "adults"? Why is this still a thing?

Union members are fighting to abolish junior pay rates and win equal pay for all adults.

There's a link in the first comment to show your support.

Sussan Ley either doesn't know her facts, or big business has been in her ear. What do you think?

The big gas and oil companies have been having it their way for too long. We are calling for a 25% tax on gas exports. This would have raised $17.1 billion in the 2023-2024 financial year. Enough to build 50,000 new homes.

Can you remember the RBA telling Big Business to stop price gouging, which we know contributes to inflation? No?

Can you remember the RBA telling Big Business to share more of their profits with workers when productivity goes up? No?

Why is it that the RBA only want workers to feel the pain?

Aussie workers are spending less time stuck in traffic thanks to working from home.

With more people logging in from home instead of heading into the office, peak-hour crowds on roads, trains and buses have thinned out—making commutes quicker for everyone.

For too long, family trusts have been used as a means for people to avoid paying their fair share of tax. This is why we are calling for a 25% minimum tax on disbursments from family trusts. We also want to see more transparency around who's actually benefiting from these arrangements.

This World Mental Health Day, remember: protecting mental health at work isn’t just personal. It’s a collective responsibility and a legal duty for employers every single day of the year.

Super is workers retirement savings, not employers money. This is why we are calling on parliament to pass pay day super reforms. Pay day super will make it easier to spot when money is missing and workers will get more benefits from compound interest.

Union deals deliver bigger pay rises than non-union deals. Further proof if needed, why it pays to be union.

A world first win. Unions in Australia holding Uber to account ✊

📈 It pays to be in a union.

Union-negotiated agreements delivered average wage increases of 4.2%, well above the 3% from non-union agreements.

📵Aussie workers now have the right to ignore after-hours calls & emails.

Your time is your time.

Work stops when the shift ends. 💪

🚨 A worker was told “don’t take too long” after asking to take their child to the hospital.

This isn’t leadership. This is control.

What would you have done as a parent or boss in this situation?

P.S. If this sort of thing reflects your office culture, there's a join link in our bio

Is this your boss? If so, you might want to join a union.

Finally, workers are starting to get a fair share of the wealth they create.
