Absolutely insane headline. This is what genocide looks like. This is what our ruling classes have decided will be normal.

What's wild about the US tariffs is that they are not coupled with any industrial policy or public investment strategy that could plausibly deliver US re-industrialization. The result is that the tariffs will likely accelerate US industrial decline and general economic degradation.

Netanyahu is openly gearing up to commit a crime of unthinkable proportions - the forced ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, with the continued backing of the US. Every sane and civilized country must oppose this.

We should talk more about how the dominant approach of capitalist economists to controlling inflation is to periodically throw hundreds of thousands of people out of work and into misery. This is what passes for "economic stability" and it is madness.

This problem did not start with the Trump administration; it is a structural pathology of the US system. The political objective for progressives in the US should be to fight to change it.

No, the United States is not a "beacon of democracy"

We need to build a movement to have maybe a 50/50 chance of stopping full fascism. The path is to unite over the realization that the billionaires are the enemy... this is a life-or-death class war. Here's a piece I wrote:

To solve the climate crisis, power must flow away from the billionaire class

Social democracy is not a viable alternative to capitalism. It is a tempting prospect, but ultimately suffers from violent contradictions that cannot be sustained. 🧵
