51-49 with 2 moderate Republicans voting it down. Presidential confirmations should not be this narrow. They should essentially be a rubber stamp on someone extremely qualified to do the job.

If your own party is voting against you then that says a lot in terms of their qualifications.

Not a good look coming from a nation that had an entire revolution to leave a country with a monarchy.

The fact that this is posted from the official White House account makes it even worse.

Any man who must say "I am the king" is no true king.

This is a terrible line of reasoning. He's essentially stating:

"My actions in the name of 'saving the country' justify breaking laws."

This sets a precedent for authoritarian behavior that normalizes acting outside of the law and will likely erode the checks and balances on the executive branch.

You don't have to address everything all at once. Voice your opinion on one topic or issue. Keep it short and simple, but keep at it!

Call them daily, weekly, or monthly depending on how serious the issue is to you.

One of the most powerful things we can do as citizens is engage with our elected representatives. It's the number one thing that all advocacy groups and lobbyists try to do. They do this because it works. We need to too!!!

In the late 19th century, America went through its first Gilded Age with John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and J.P. Morgan having the modern equivalent of hundreds of billions.

Now we're seeing the same with Musk, Bezos, and Zuckerberg.

New tax law and the IRS can easily solve this.

Elon Musk and DOGE are dismantling vital federal agencies and gaining access to our most private and sensitive data without themselves having been confirmed by the Senate or undergone background checks.

We must go through the proper channels and processes. We cannot allow this hostile take over.

If your ideal government is run like a business, then your ideal government is an authoritarian or plutocratic one.

That's not a democracy. That's not a republic. That's not America.

If executive power is unchecked, then that isn't a Democracy or a Republic. That's a dictatorship.
