Black Mesa is a really great faithful recreation of hl1. You can start there, beat it, then go on to hl2, then ep1 and ep2. If you want more Half-Life after that, check out the expansions Blue Shift and Opposing Force, and maybe OG hl1 which is amazing on its own.
