Bummer you couldn't figure it out, but I love little design tricks like using the y position as the time offset. Using a variable that already exists for something else always feels like I'm getting away with something 😆. I use the object's unique ID as the offset for stuff all the time.

Completely agree. I could NOT put the game down. It was so silky (😉) smooth.

I never finished Grimm Troupe so went back after rolling credits on Silksong. Played 5 minutes and said, oh ya this is not fun, and bailed. I don't get it.

I'm going bonkers people thinking the game was a 'alright' game. Like what?! Why isn't it at the top of everything? Hollow Knight was good, but so rigid and exhausting. Silksong felt like eating fancy cheesecake. I don't get what people have issues with when Hollow Knight was worse...

This always happens to me when I know what needs to be done until the end of the game and now I just have to do the work... Would rather only know what's happening the next hour or so.

It's also like an indie designer's dream: virtually unlimited time and money to make the exact thing you want to, completely polished from top to bottom. It's fantastic.

Like, I just see SO MUCH of Team Cherry giving the player a leg up: tool variety, 95% of bosses having a bench nearby so minimal runback, looping designs that limit backtracking, and on and on. As a designer, all I could see the whole game was TC giving the player a leg up.

Just wanna comment on this even more: I dragged myself across the finish line for Hollow Knight. There's a lot I liked, but by the end I was just done.

Silksong addressed all of my issues, but people online have been mixed about the game and I'm like... WHUUUHH?
