I can't get an ID on this spider on my fence as it only shows it's underside but it's notable for the demonic smiley face on it's abdomen!

I recently met up with a gardener/ landscaper who had some lengths of various UK woods for various #bushcraft projects. One non-native he was keen to show me was Mahonia. When cut it reveals this vivid yellow.

Whilst clearing out my in-laws' house I found this book called 'The British Herbal and Family Physician'. It's by Nicholas Culpepper and has lots of indigenous plants & trees in with delighful old language.

This was a classic FA cup tie with a Premier league club playing at an astro turfed austere non-league ground. 0-0 at FT should have seen Tamworth get a lucrative replay but rule changes mean extra time which favours fitter elite players. Hmph.

Quick post Christmas idea. Use your notes app to make a note of how many card boxes you have, how much wrapping paper is left, what food you over purchased etc and then make a calendar note for October '25. Works a treat.

My wife and l sold a kidney each to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary heading to Canada & Alaska. As of today it's now *this year* and we've just been through the mind melting visa applications.
