Today is I think legitimately the first day I believe it’s over. It seems now like it was over before it began—he gave this no runway. They are sub .500 mostly bc he hasn’t played (I get this team is severely flawed, but I still think we are a top 5 seed if KPJ and Giannis stayed healthy).

I guess the fact that they managed to be top 12 last season is messing with my expectations lol. Not really sure how they pulled that off in hindsight.

Idk, it seems plausible they can be noticeably better than on D this year. They have 32 fewer minutes of Dame on the perimeter, a starting center that’s more dynamic on D than their last one, and won’t have TP playing out of position on D each night. The rest is mostly the same, right?

Yeah agree—wide range of outcomes. Really excited (scared as a Bucks fan) to see what 2025 Cade looks like

I don’t strongly disagree, but I think the Pistons, Magic, Hawks, Bucks group is completely up for grabs, and there isn’t a favorite for the 3 seed. Of that group, Hawks and Bucks have most potential to look way different (better?) from last season.

Thanks, Keith—I’m still unsure what the reason for doing this is though. Is this part of their effort to sign other free agents, or is this an effort to include him in a trade in the coming weeks? Maybe both?

Like we’ve waited nearly 7 months for the playoffs, we have an ocean of an offseason with nothing to talk about, and the Bucks lose game 1 on the road without their star PG and we’re spending time figuring out how to get Giannis to Brooklyn. I swear NBA media hates actual basketball.

Another year (7? 8?) of every national writer shipping Giannis out, only for him to stay, because he’s said from day 1 he wants to stay. Would love if we got one single story that talked about the playoff basketball on the floor w/r/t this Bucks team. The Giannis+small lineups have been incredible.

I just wish Giannis is screening for him — in a 2 pt game the threat of Giannis rolling should give him space. That’s supposed to be the whole allure of pairing them in that situation.
