"What's actually happening at Sunshine?" seems to be quite an important question at the moment

Here's my take from what we know so far. This diagram communicates how the $4 billion upgrade unlocks western suburbs electrification and more country services

The list of tallest buildings in Adelaide is really funny because there's 4 of them all built in the last half decade and they are all exactly 1 metre taller than the other

I think this is the first time I've lived walking distance from a grocery store and I'm out of my mind about it. I'll walk there several times a day. Oh did I forget to grab something? No big deal I'll simply Walk To The Store

The western Swanston Street footpath outside the future State Library station has reopened this morning, after a closure that lasted about 6 months

The kerb has been extended and new signage is up for the station opening later in 2025

New Conduent readers popping up around the network. Glenroy, Footscray, Moreland, Upfield. Note they are just a simple swap out of the reader module on both the older and newer gate styles.

Great to be back on the interstate mainline again. Today I engaged in a minor chase of The Ghan between Two Wells and Mallala, where recent ARTC upgrades have resulted in 60km/h speed restrictions - easy to beat in a car

The new Myki readers excitingly feature QR scanners above the screen that'll let you scan V/line tickets and other short term ticket types

This is already in use in Adelaide and allows new ticket products like group tickets. Great for flexible travel and tourists

A chance yesterday to say goodbye to Ryan's route bus service

From mid this year, these routes will be ceded to CDC Western Melbourne. The introduction of new bus contracts with a focus on zero emission vehicles makes it hard for small firms like this to adapt to the changes

Disappointed to see this level of inaccuracy from @danielbowen.au . The Warrnambool line has had 5 weekday services for a number of years, and only 3 on weekends

The new April timetable will simply provide the same level of service on weekdays and weekends

V/line has been withdrawing N sets for a number of years now, and one large step towards their complete withdrawal will be in April

The April 13 timetable change will see the last ever N sets in Western Victoria, as VLocity trains replace these 40-year-old icons. Picture from Little River today ⬇️

Today marks 11 years since electric trains first publicly ran on the Adelaide suburban network, the last Australian capital to add electric rail service

Today Adelaide has over 80km of electrified railway on the busiest suburban lines

Back in November I alighted the overnight XPT at Goulburn at 4:40am, on the long journey from Melbourne to Canberra

Despite my lack of sleep and the freezing cold, I was determined to photograph all I could before the 6:30am coach. Here's some of the action I saw in the early morning darkness
