Yeah, I know some folks use them with their quest 2/3! (they have to use OpenVRSpace and SteamVR to do so)
I bet Valve will add support to the current Vive trackers to make it simpler. But when there’s a will, there’s a way and folks will get it to work haha.

Right, the base stations would still be used for the FBT for legs and waist(assuming vive trackers)
The Frames Controllers have built in IMUs to track where they are in addition to camera tracking.
Folks use Slime trackers(using built in IMUs) for FBT, so it should work
