When I prepared the base I assembled the steel to hold my rails. On the back side I drilled and tapped M12 blind holes and inserted threaded rod with M12 nuts. This will provide reinforcement for the epoxy-granite. The melamine bot asks as a mold. USE A RELEASE AGENT. I learned the hard way.

I had about a thousand holes to drill tap. The easiest way to do this is making a jig for my manual mill. It's a simple jig with some pins that are accurately placed so that I just slide the parts in, drill and move on. The MDF is “accurate enough”. #machining #CNC
