Id say the only ‘therapy’ you can do is first, pull yourself to safety as much as you can, then help as many others as possible do the same. Our brains get depressed when we feel we cannot address on the problem. So address it, do all that you can, and know you re not God. This is bigger than you.

I forgot - no catholic stuff for me. Just pre-christian and neo-pagan stuff for me.

Vanatruar here. I work with several gods in the Vanir tribe, amongst others.

I started out as a Wiccan :)

Wiccans worship a male & female deity who represent all gods, from a pantheon they feel drawn to, and use structured rites, all of which I disliked. They follow the Rede, which I loved.

I guess my specialty is «mental» magic. A concoction of intuition, empathy, shapeshifting, shadow work, healing and glamour magic, that allows me to read and shift an emotional ambiance and subtly influence folk when needed

It often has a bad rep as ‘feminine wiles’ among non magic peeps

Ohhh point of interest… do you use a metal or wooden wand for that?

Please do 😁

And yes, I hate it when I cant remember the juicy details.

Listen, it still makes no sense, which is why my brain likely booted it, but at least now i know 😁

2)According to her:

In order to avoid becoming one of her victims, people would eat oliebollen. Her sword would then not slice open the belly, but would slip because oliebollen are so high in fat and slippery. That's a story specific to The Netherlands, and not known in Belgium.

Got it!

Ok, I was crazy and asked someone on here who specialises in Flemish folklore.

She says she found Pertcha (who is likely Holda according to Wiki) is the origin of the oliebol. She sliced open the belly of the lazy and sinful.

I dunno man.

Although one hypothesis is to help kids navigate the world.

What’s that saying? Paraphrasing but:

Kids dont need to be told monsters exist. They need to be reassured they can beat them.

From what wiki said, the wild hunt likely got demonised later on during christianity, so that might be why she is evil in this story.

Well, I was told it was to fool her as it makes your belly full of greasy food instead of blood and guts? 🤔

(Honestly, its been years, so I dont fully recall…)

And yeah, it was to punish those not doing their household chores, iirc.
