It's from Eastern Europe. Probably Ukraine or Belarus. Those are the sort of apartment blocks I grew up in in the 90s. This meme was never meant to represent the American childhood experience.

Like those are very obviously Soviet era apartment buildings all facing one "courtyard" common area. Your apartments don't even work like that! You can see the inhabitable balconies, come on.

Update: OMG I put the inside layer in and it wasn't a complete disaster! I'm so happy rn. I'm trying to temper it because I still have the collar and sleeves to figure out but like ... The two sides matched(ish) and I only fucked up attaching the sleeves like twice 😂
