Some masterstudies/samples of portraits I'm drawing for an upcoming class I'm teaching starting September!! I love learning from the masters, it's almost theraputic. These two, for anyone who doesn't know, are Leonardo Da Vinci and Alphonse Mucha.

Here's a picture of the final painting laid out on my desk against my paint tray and painbrush bag! A fluffy orange kitty rolls to the side in playful happiness, one eye peeked open as he smiles. I drew him with a mix of watercolor, colored pencil, and ink! Here's a closeup photo of the kitty's face, my favorite part of the painting. He looks so happy and playful!

A sailboat drifts on a watercolor ocean, a soft breeze in its sails as someone quietly fishes from its deck, contemplating as they wait for a bite. The moment I finsihed this piece and had it in the golden frame I snapped this picture. Surrounded by art supplies all used to bring it to life. You can even see my cat in the top left background giving moral support. A closer picture of the sailboat scene before I put it inside the frame. You can see the pencil lines I sketched around it so I knew where to crop it for framing.
