Yes! France and the UK have had a strong influence on today's situation. But just over 100y ago, Palestine included Jordan, whose majority population shares the Palestinian culture, language, and history.

What changed? A symbol of the West was attacked in 2001. The West responded. Australia and like-minded nations maintained bipartisan political fortitude for two decades in addressing a threat. Now, Western ideals are under attack again, but we don't last two years effectively supporting a response.

Is it an effective article?

It's an echo chamber if you're pro-Israel. The anti-Israel side won't bother with something contradicting them. The rest just want the war to end, or watch in morbid fascination.

"Palestine" a century ago included modern Jordan, yet they're left out of the equation 🤔
