I'm sitting here watching Velshi, as I do on Saturdays, and was struck by this stat: according to Pan America, a non-profit org dedicated to literary freedom, 10,046 instances of book bans occurred in the 2023-2024 school year, up from 3,362 the year before. Let that sink in.
