This was our little dog pack for quite a few years. Bailey, Carson and Zoey. I hope they're reunited now in whatever beautiful space exists for dog souls. Dogs are a gift and I'll fight anyone who says different.

In the wee hours this morning our Zoey crossed the 🌈. Our hearts hurt. Our home is a little emptier. But when we feel ready, we will keep these words in mind (and heart)...
Zoey came to us after our Shelby girl passed... She would want us to pass that love forward again.❤️

This is the only thing I can give... the love I left behind.

I'm sitting here w/ my beautiful, messy,scruffy wonderful old girl as she journeys from this world to the next. She's 19. For the last 3 days we've been taking turns holding her, petting her, telling her how much we love her, thanking the universe for our Zoey girl. #sayinggoodbye #mysweetgirl #zoey

We did! And lost power for short periods about 5-6 times incl. this morning ( AFTER the coffee had finished brewing thankfully).
Halloween was perfect! Great day! Spent the afternoon w/ one of my sons. Got a free coffee @ a local coffee shop because I was dressed up. Another hat by you.

This morning Charlie and I stood in the mist & overcast, watching leaves drifting down on wind gusts; enjoying a quietly beautiful fall moment.
Then I ruined it by scooping him up for a picture. Not his favourite thing. But kisses helped a little.

I had to get a new phone. My ancient Samsung finally died. The new📱 takes amazing photos-among other things that my old one couldn't.
I love the perspective in this pic. We have a library in our home. It's bookishly cozy. Today I'm doing a low level book clear-out. The rainy weather is perfect.

New family member. This is Hermes. My son adopted him about 2 weeks ago. He's around 1 year old. Slowly introducing him to the all the human family and some of the other furkids. ❤️

My sons car was stolen out of our driveway (in front of our house) last night. He reported it; called insurance. He had work equipment in the car. He says it was locked.
I've been trying not to freak the f--- out.

So much this. Always respect people's jobs.
I worked for many years as a diner waitress; also as a nurses aide at a hospital & a senior residence/nursing home. The skills I picked up in both of those jobs still follow me in my life.
"Nobody grew up with intentions of being a cleaner, cashier, security guard, taxi driver, car cleaner, or store general worker. We all had big dreams, but life happened. Respect people's jobs."

Thank you all for the healing energy, prayers, well wishes for our Zoey girl. Just got the phone call from our vet: her kidneys are showing their age but no tumors; all other organs look good. She'll be on a special diet & supplemental fluids given by me but she's much better. It's the best news. ❤️

This past Saturday cleaned/reorg-ed some kitchen cupboards and finally finished rehoming my witches apothecary. Went thru everything, relabeled, re-jarred. Moved it to this cupboard (near my kitchen). 2/3 of this is harvested/foraged on/near our property even brick chunks/dust/nails from our house.
My witches apothecary. My apothecary aesthetic is reuse/recycle. More than 1/2 of the cupboard is foraged & harvested from our property or very close by. the coffee cans are saved candle stubs and wax.

Hub and I spent the day at Washington Irvings home Sunnyside & then strolling the grounds at Lyndhurst mansion. Perfect weather. Perfect day. Perfect companion. He took this photo of me... it feels like it's from another century. I love this so much.
