I sucked in. The interiors are great. Costumes show the reality of clothing that was brushed more often than laundered. But, honestly, where is the smoking? The secret upstairs rooms? #hatm

My mother was an army brat with army brat parents and grandparents. My father was a natural adventurer and curious person. I just hope I’ve imbued my kids with their spirit. Trying now with grandkids

The little trolls ushered in ads on one f the channels. A othe had little hedgehogs. It was ‘60s, so maybe we only had 2 channels. Commercials came on in a clump, ca hourly. I didn’t have a tv in 70s when I was in college and seldom went to watch it

Oh, but tv for Roots and The Day After? That in adult years for me.

My parents would be flattered! We had tvs….. small b&w units. We even had one in Germany & watched, though the trolls, & moon landing thing I remember the most. We got our first color tv in about ‘70 when my father got back from Vietnam.

I gave up questioning teachers about the drills in about 2nd or 3rd grade. We moved a lot, but the drills were the same everywhere

I’m worried it might be too disturbing. I’m deeply conflicted. BTW, I was that Kindergartener who was openly dubious about the duck & cover drills. I think my father, who’d been involved in early nuclear testing was as truthful & clear as you could be w/ a 5 yo about the bomb.

I didn’t have a tv for Roots, but there were gatherings at peoples houses. We also didn’t have can a TV for The Day After, but I remember the impact it made. We got a tv in about ‘86. Lots of Sesame Street and old movies were out chief fare. I think we got a VCR at the same time
